About REITA

The Rare Earth Industry and Technology Association is a Colorado nonprofit corporation formed to facilitate the development and commercialization of rare earth technologies critical to the economic and national security interests of developed nations.

REITA’s Vision is to be the premier association of industry, government and academic partners meeting the global need for Rare Earth materials and products.

Mission Statement: To facilitate and foster the creation of a commercially sustainable Rare Earth industry and technology base to meet the growing global need for Rare Earth materials and products for green energy, defense, energy independence applications.

REITA Goals:

  1. Establish and maintain an association of industry, government and academic partners interested in the development and commercialization of Rare Earth (RE) technologies.
  2. Facilitate the growth of RE applications and capabilities by mitigating commercial and technical risk for member organizations.
  3. Create a team environment that will foster the creation of specific domestic and global RE supply chains for critical commercial and defense applications.
  4. Facilitate the development of RE technologies through domestic and global partnerships.
  5. Educate and increase awareness of RE applications and supply issues with stakeholders.
  6. Create new high quality jobs in metallurgy, mining, manufacturing, research & development and other related areas.
  7. Develop the technologies and catalyze the commercialization of a global Mine to Magnets capability (1st REITA Initiative).
  8. Evaluate other potential initiatives critical Rare Earth technology applications.

Analogous Consortia: REITA is designed after the US Department of Defense Science & Technology Division’s Innovation Enterprise model. There are currently three other Innovation Enterprise consortia in operation “building the industrial base of the future” in unrelated technologies of interest to DoD.
